Gorakhpur has for a long time been a bastion of Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath. Even though Yogi Adityanath was not fighting from the Gorakhpur seat this time, he campaigned extensively for BJP candidate Ravi Kishan.

The results of the Gorakhpur Lok Sabha Constituency will be declared today. The counting of votes began on the Gorakhpur Parliamentary seat in Uttar Pradesh at 8 AM on Thursday, May 23. Voting took place for Gorakhpur seat in the seventh phase of Lok Sabha elections on May 19. A total voter turnout of 54.37 per cent was recorded in this phase of polling in UP, as per Election Commission of India.
