Bharatiya Jananta Party (BJP) candidate Ravindra Shyamnarayan Shukla alias Ravi Kishan won from the Gorakhpur Lok Sabha Constituency in Uttar Pradesh. Ravi Kishan defeated Samajwadi Party candidate  Rambhual Nishad with a massive margin of 3,01,664 votes. The constituency number of this place is PC 64. The election here was conducted on May 19, 2019 as per the Phase 7 schedule. The counting of votes took place today, May 23. A total voter turnout of 54.37 per cent was recorded in this phase of polling in UP, as per Election Commission of India. . The last general election in the year 2014 was won by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Yogi Adityanath who is the current Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. He bagged the total of 5,39,127 votes. Gorakhpur saw a By Poll in the year 2018, which was won by Samajwadi Party (SP) candidate Pravin Kumar Nishad with 4,56,513 votes, who is also the current MP on the seat.
