New Delhi, Feb 4: The Umang App now offers 172 services from 136 departments, said Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, while announcing the launch of 'E-Pathshala' on the application.

The E-Pathshala, Rajnath said, would help parents and students for the latter's educational curriculum. The app would provide them various e-books, teaching instructions and audio-visual materials for exam preparation.

The app is key to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's initiative of 'Digital India'. With 172 online services, the application has allowed citizens to avail government benefits at their fingertips. Among the marquee services offered by the application include 'Digilocker' -- which allows you to store scanned copies of important documents viz. vehicle documents, Aadhaar, driving license, etc online -- and 'Payment Gateway', used for online payments. The app can be downloaded free from the Google Play store, and is available for use in both the English and Hindi.
