With today being the 4th of October, we can safely say that Durga Puja has officially begun. As per the Hindu calendar, the last three days of Navratri are observed to worship the three warrior forms of Devi Parvati, who eventually killed the evil demon Mahishasura on the final day. Hence, Dussehra is celebrated to observe the victory of good over evil. It is also the day when Lord Ram defeated Ravana in Lanka. Again, the same theory of good conquering over evil (as Ravana is an asura) is observed on Dussehra. It is a nation-wide celebration as pujas take place to worship the lords that brought about peace. Dussehra 2019 Date and Time: Vijayadashami Puja Vidhi, Shubh Muhurat and Significance of the Hindu Festival Celebrated Post Navratri

As a lot of pujas will take place that will culminate to the idol of Durga Mata's immersion in the water, you should be prepared to wear the best on the day. With all the traditions and rituals taking their due course, it would be ideal to revel in the joy of others by wearing some impeccable choices of ensembles. Right from Vijayadashami pujas to Ram Leela's, you've got a whole day planned out and these ethnic ensembles donned by celebrities could play a fun role in bringing more pizzazz to your celebration! Durga Puja 2019 Dates in Kolkata After Mahalaya: Tithi Calendar, Durga Ashtami 2019, Maha Navami and Vijayadashami As Per Bengali Panjika

Unlike how noisy colours and patterns are usually the choices, this year, we think keeping things minimal would be the best way to go about it. Our personal favourites are Anushka Sharma and Kriti Sanon's take on white ethnic ensembles. Both have a varied choice of style but they've got spunk. In fact, you can simply take a red fancy dupatta and don it over the white ensemble to make for a brilliant ensemble! Similar to what Karisma Kapoor has done in the picture below.

Of course, some do like the colours and panache. So for them, colours like green, pink and yellow would work splendidly. What Bhumi Pednekar has donned is literally the perfect minimal ethnic ensemble. Check out the pictures below and you'll certainly be able to feel the vibe we're rooting for this Dussehra!

Dussehra celebrations manage to bring forth the heterogeneity of Indian culture in it's purest forms! They're all celebrating for different reasons but they all come together to revel in each other's joy for faith and blessing. Hope your Dussehra is as lit as the ensembles of these ladies.
