The second day of Lakme Fashion Week was dedicated to sustainability, handloom and traditionalism. When we think about fashion, the first image pops in our heads is all glitz and glamour. But this year, handloom industry showcased some beautiful collection and roped in Bollywood celebs like Sushmita Sen and Dia Mirza. The absolute stunner, fierce and unstoppable Sushmita Sen had the shutterbugs go wild the moment she entered the stage. The diva added a dose of glamour by taking over the ramp and turning showstopper for RmKV silks in collaboration with Sunita Shanker. Once Miss Universe entered the elaborate stage, flashing her brilliant smile, saying that she looked absolutely breath-taking would be an understatement. The bold and fierce walk had everyone’s eyes glued on her. The strong-headed star stepped out in an unconventional jumpsuit draped Kanjivaram saree. Sushmita displayed hues of colours and took over the show like a boss lady.

Part of the RmKV silks collection created by Sunita Shanker, Sush’s outfit was a strapped peach toned silk jumpsuit with pleats at the waist and a reversible pallu in a hue of colours. She completed her colourful look with smokey eyes and sleek hair. As for sporting accessories, she donned her contagious smile and nothing else. The fit actress is aging like fine wine and doesn’t seem to have aged even a single day. Hats off to the ever-so stunning lady.
Following the show, Sushmita spoke to the press about her experience at the Lakme Fashion Week saying, “I’m a big fan of the saree and I’m talking about the traditional saree. It drapes a woman and embraces her power of suggestion – nothing sexier, I believe. It was beautiful for them to give me this opportunity to walk for something that is far more than just a fashion show for Lake Fashion Week. It represents sustainable fashion, which in so many ways a celebration of what human impact can do to your environment and to your social responsibility, both of which I have deep respect for.” Sushmita was surely a highlight from the second day of the fest.
