Maria Katia Gomes da Silva is believed to have died after she fell from the 10th floor of her apartment's balcony in Sao Paulo, Brazil. She lived in the apartment with her boyfriend, Alex Bispo dos Santos. Maria moved to Sao Paulo for better work opportunities and has a daughter from her previous marriage. According to a report by The Sun, it is being said that the couple had a heated argument before the tragic incident happened.

When emergency services arrived, Alex was found with his wife's body. He claimed that Maria had taken her own life. However, investigators have reportedly said that the CCTV footage obtained from their building premises contradicts this story.

CCTV footage from their argument has surfaced online, in which Alex can be seen aggressively assaulting Maria outside a lift. He is then seen grabbing her by the neck and dragging her on the floor as she desperately tries to cling to the door. A minute later, he returned to the lift alone.
