Mumbai, February 13: In a surprising round of the event, Bharatiya Janata Party’s MLA from Arni in Maharashtra’s Yavatmal district – Raju Narayan Todsam – was beaten up by his mother and first wife on Tuesday as he showed up with his ‘second wife’ at his 42nd birthday celebrations in public. The incident took place in Todsam’s constituency where the MLA arrived his second wife – Priya Shinde – and things went awry with the arrival of his mother and first wife.

According to the video, that went viral, the lawmaker was celebrating his birthday along with his supporters and his second wife, when his first wife – Archana – and his mother arrived with a bunch of supporters to show anger. They also beat Priya, and when Todsam tried to rescue her, the two women and their supporters attacked the lawmaker’s second wife. With the situation going out of control, Priya starting pleading to the public for help, after which was admitted in the hospital for treatment.

Taking cognisance of the matter, police booked the MLA, his mother and his two wives for unruly conduct in public. However, none of then decided to file charges against each other. Party sources say that the MLA agreed to provide for the upkeep of his wife and two children.

As per the report, Todsam has a controversial past. Earlier he was caught on tape trying to extort money from a contractor. Facing criticism, the BJP had said that he would not be given a ticket in the 2019 assembly elections.
