Royal Baby number three has finally arrived. Kate Middleton also known as Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge has given birth to third child, a baby boy on April 23, 2018 i.e. Saint George's Day at St. Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, London.  Both the mother and baby are doing just fine. Kate Middleton’s third royal baby with husband Prince William, Duke of Cambridge is fifth in line to the throne. The couple who got married in 2011 are also parents of four-year-old Prince George born in 2013 and two-year-old Princess Charlotte, born in 2015. All the three royal babies were born at the hospital’s private maternity Lindo wing.

Kensington Palace released official statement: "Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a son at 1101hrs. The baby weighs 8lbs 7oz. The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well."

They further tweeted, "The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and members of both families have been informed and are delighted with the news."

After days of speculations, umpteen predictions over the delivery due date, baby name, gender of royal baby number three, the birth finally took place on Monday. The first information on Kate Middleton’s going into labour was shared by Kensington Palace on its official Twitter handle. The statement reads: Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was admitted to St. Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, London earlier this morning in the early stages of labour. The Duchess travelled by car from Kensington Palace to the Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s Hospital with The Duke of Cambridge.”

They had shared pictures of world media waiting in anticipation outside the St. Mary's Hospital. They wrote, "The world’s media are gathered outside the Lindo Wing at St Mary’s Hospital ahead of the birth of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s third child."

The first announcement about Kate and William becoming parents for the third time took place last year on September 4. Kensington Palace has tweeted, “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting their third child. The Queen and members of both families are delighted with the news.”

Kate Middleton was cared for under the watchful eyes of consultant obstetrician Guy Thorpe-Beeston, who is the surgeon-gynaecologist to the royal household along with consultant gynaecologist Alan Farthing, the Queen’s surgeon-gynaecologist. The two have been part of 23-member team that had also delivered Prince George in 2013 and Princess Charlotte in 2015.

During the delivery of Prince George in 2013, Kate had given birth to her son 10-and-a-half hours after being admitted to hospital, however it was smooth proceedings during Charlotte’s birth two years later in 2015. She was born just two hours and 34 minutes after arriving at St. Mary’s Hospital.

In all her three pregnancies, Duchess of Cambridge suffered from hyperemesis gravidarum, an extreme form of morning sickness but the royal continued to carry on with her duties. However, in the final phase of her third pregnancy, Kate is believed to be all pumped up about the delivery. In fact, the heavily-pregnant Duchess indulged in daily activities of George Charlotte with an insider quoted saying to E!, “She’s carried on until the last moment. She’s full of energy and excited about the new arrival.”
