In a recent development regarding the firing outside Salman Khan's residence in Bandra on April 14, the Mumbai Crime Branch on Monday, April 22, recovered a gun and some cartridges used for committing the crime from the Tapi River in Gujarat's Surat.  According to the police officials, the search operation was initiated after the accused, Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal, said that they disposed of the weapons in the river while escaping to Bhuj. The search is set to continue on Tuesday, April 23, to recover the second firearm.
