On Monday (August 5), Bangladeshi actor Shanto Khan and his producer father, Selim Khan, were brutally lynched by a mob in Chandpur, Bangladesh. The father and son had fled their village for Farakkabad Bazar in Balia Union after the news of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s resignation broke. Selim, who was also the Chairman of Lakshmipur Model Union Parishad, and Shanto were attacked by the mob following a confrontation at Farakkabad market. Despite attempting to escape by firing shots, they were ultimately caught and beaten to death, according to reports from The Daily Star.
