IIT-Delhi All-women Team Develops a Novel Antifungal Strategy for Fungal Eye Infection
An all-women team from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has developed a novel “antifungal strategy” for more effective treatment of fungal infection of cornea in eyes or fungal keratitis. The institute said currently available drugs were “less effective, especially in severe disease due to poor drug penetration, poor bioavailability, and antifungal efficacy”.
