At least 12 workers were injured after two locomotive trains used for construction work collided inside the THDC hydroelectric project tunnel at Pipalkoti in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district on Tuesday, December 30. The accident occurred around 2.5 km inside the main tunnel at the TBM site.

Chamoli District Magistrate Gaurav Kumar said he has sought a detailed report from THDC officials. The district magistrate and superintendent of police reached the hospital to oversee the situation, while rescue operations were carried out on a war footing.
