India Tour of South Africa 2021: South African Ministry Welcomes Indian Teams, Assures Them of Safety Amidst Omricon Variant of COVID-19 Outbreak (Read Statement)
The Indian senior men's cricket team's tour of South Africa in December this year fell under a huge threat with many African nations experiencing the outbreak of the Omricon variant of COVID-19. The first India vs South Africa Test would begin at the Wanderers on December 17.
The South African ministry of international relations and cooperation have welcomed the India A and senior teams to the country amidst reports of the tour being called off owing to the outbreak of Omricon, a new COVID-19 variant. The India A team is already in South Africa, playing an unofficial Test series.
