For India, skipper Harmanpreet Kaur returned to the team after serving a ban. In response, all Sri Lanka could manage was 97/8. India's best bowler was Titas Sadhu, who took three wickets while conceding six runs. Rajeshwari Gayakwad also took two wickets while Deepti Sharma, Pooja Vastrakar and Devika Vaidya scalped one apiece. The Indian team had earlier won the silver medal in last year's Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
