Netizens Allege Boundary Rope Was Displaced As Imam-ul-Haq’s Catch To Dismiss Kusal Mendis During PAK vs SL ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 Match Creates Controversy
The fielder had earlier dropped a simple chance at backward point to dismiss Kusal Mendis but this time, ensured he held on to the catch no matter how high the ball went. But now, that catch has grabbed the spotlight with netizens alleging that the boundary rope was moved.
Imam-ul-Haq's catch to dismiss Kusal Mendis was truly an extraordinary one, during the Pakistan vs Sri Lanka ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. Mendis, in red-hot form, had hit the ball high in the air and Haq kept his eyes firm and grabbed it near the boundary line. However, that catch has generated some controversy with fans pointing out that the boundary rope was pushed back from its original place. This is not the first time though. In Pakistan's match against the Netherlands, a picture went viral of the boundary rope pushed back during the second innings. Screamer!
