But after skipper Scott Edwards (78*) arrived on the crease, he opened the floodgate of scoring by stitching partnerships with Sybrand Engelbrecht, Teja Nidamanuru, Roelof van der Merwe and Aryan Dutt who provided small contributions. Edwards and Dutt provided the final push to take Netherlands to a competitive total of 245 on the board. South African seamers were the most effective upfront with Lungi Ngidi, Marco Jansen and Kagiso Rabada sharing two wickets apiece.
