USA pulled off a stunning win over Bangladesh in the first game of a three-match T20I series at the Prairie View Cricket Complex in Houston on May 21. This was the first-ever meeting between the two sides in a T20I. Batting first, Bangladesh were restricted to 153/6 by the hosts, who rode on a disciplined bowling effort led by Steven Taylor (2/9) in three overs. Towhid Hridoy was Bangladesh's best batter, scoring 58 runs in 47 balls. In response, USA chased down the target in 19.3 overs with knocks from Corey Anderson (34 off 25 balls) and Harmeet Singh (33 off 13 deliveries). Andries Gous and Steven Taylor also scored 23 and 28 runs, respectively. Mustafizur Rahman took two wickets for Bangladesh but conceded 41 runs in his four overs. With this win, USA surprisingly took a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
