East Bengal FC have won their historic first Indian Super League (ISL) title, defeating Inter Kashi 2-1 at the Kishore Bharati Krirangan on Thursday. The victory ended a painful 22-year national top-tier league title drought for the club. Alfred Planas opened the scoring for Inter Kashi in the 14th minute. However, Golden Boot winner Youssef Ezzejjari equalised for East Bengal shortly after the interval. Palestinian midfielder Mohammed Rashid then scored the decisive match-winner in the 73rd minute.
