In a very unfortunate development, FC Porto's director of football Jorge Costa has breathed his last at the age of only 53 on August 05, 2025. Former FC Porto Captain under Jose Mourinho suffered a cardiac arrest at the club's training ground in Olival according to Portuguse media. Costa played at total of 383 times for the club, winning 24 trophies along the way including a memorable Champions League triumph in the 2003-04 season and the UEFA Cup the season prior. After retirement, he visited India as well, becoming the coach of Mumbai City FC.
