Mathias Olivera scored the goal in the 66th of the match. It was an evenly-matched contest but the hosts were unable to score any goal which eventually knocked them out of the tournament. It would've been a different scenario if the USA came in front to win the match. Uruguay can face the likes of Brazil or Colombia in the Copa America 2024 quarter-final stage.
