A crushing loss for Indian Women's Hockey team at the Asian Games 2023 semifinal against hosts as they crash out of the contention for gold medal with a 4-0 loss. India struggled in front of the Chinese defence since the start and China used the opportunity ti counter-attack and score on any opportunity they got. Despite collecting a few penalty corners in the final quarter, India could not convert them and conceded defeat despite being a superior 7th ranked side in the world over 12th ranked China. India will play either of Japan or South Korea in their bronze medal match next.
