A fighting and inspiring effort from R Praggnanandhaa finally comes to an end in the final of the FIDE World Cup 2023 as he loses to Magnus Carlsen in the tie-breaker. Praggnanandhaa managed to secure a draw in the first and the second classical games in the previous two days but he the fatigue of playing continuously caught up to him and he finished just ahead of the finishing line. International Chess Federation congratulated him for securing the runners-up position and for registering memorable wins against Hikaru Nakamura and Fabiano Caruana.
