All eyes were on Clay-court master Rafael Nadal as he prepared to take on world number seven Hubert Hurkacz in the second round of the Italian Open 2024. With no history behind, it was a chance for both players to take the lead in head-to-head matchups. Rafael Nadal did miraculously come back from a set down in a previous match but the game against Hubert Hurkacz was a real test for the Spaniard. The 27-year-old Polish star served nine aces and won four out of seven break points to win the first meeting with Nadal. The match ended with a 6-1, 6-3 scoreline in favour of Hubert Hurkacz.
