The 22-time Grand Slam champion was handed a shock defeat by Fritz, who put pressure on him right from the start of the contest, in Turin. This was Fritz's second win over Nadal in 2022, out of three matches played. On the other hand, Nadal's struggles continued as he has now suffered three consecutive defeats.
Taylor Fritz had a memorable ATP Finals debut where he produced a solid performance to defeat Rafael Nadal. The American player got the better of the 22-time Grand Slam champion, beating him 7-6 (7-3) 6-1. It was also his second win over Nadal this year in three meetings.
