ISRO EOS-05 Satellite: Space Agency Successfully Completes 3rd and Final Orbit-Raising Manoeuvre
ISRO has successfully completed the third and final orbit-raising manoeuvre for its EOS-05 spacecraft. The Liquid Apogee Motor fired for 1,247 seconds at 8:57 pm on September 7, raising the estimated orbit to 34,903 km by 35,884 km. ISRO confirmed the satellite remains healthy and is now close to its operational orbit.
The Indian Space Research Organisation has successfully completed the third and final orbit-raising manoeuvre for its EOS-05 spacecraft. The operation took place at 8:57 pm on 7 September 2026. The Liquid Apogee Motor engine fired for 1,247 seconds. The estimated orbit after the burn is 34,903 km by 35,884 km. ISRO confirmed that the satellite’s health remains normal. EOS-05 is an Earth observation satellite launched earlier this month. A series of burns was required to raise it from its initial transfer orbit towards a near-geostationary position roughly 36,000 km above Earth. With the final manoeuvre complete, the satellite is now close to its operational orbit. Further fine-tuning may still be carried out before it begins its imaging mission.
