ISRO has successfully completed the second orbit-raising manoeuvre for its EOS-05 satellite, firing the Liquid Apogee Motor for 338.9 seconds on September 6. The burn raised the estimated apogee to 35,786 km, with the satellite's health remaining normal as it progresses towards geostationary orbit.
The Indian Space Research Organisation has successfully completed the second operation to raise the apogee of its EOS-05 satellite. The manoeuvre took place at 7pm on 6 September 2026. The Liquid Apogee Motor engine fired for 338.9 seconds. The estimated apogee after the burn stands at 35,786 km. ISRO confirmed that the satellite’s health remains normal. EOS-05 is an Earth observation satellite launched earlier this month on a journey towards geostationary orbit. A series of orbit-raising burns is required to place it in its final operational position roughly 36,000 km above Earth. This second successful firing marks further progress towards that goal. Additional manoeuvres may still be needed to circularise the orbit and fine-tune the satellite’s position.
