India Urges Russia-Ukraine For Immediate Ceasefire in Sumy For Smooth Evacuation of Stranded Students

According to reports, more than 500 Indian students are scattered in two hostels in Sumy and are waiting for approval from the Ukrainian government and Indian embassy to go reach the Russian border.

Amid Russia’s military operation in Ukraine, Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi on March 5 urged Ukraine and Russia for immediate ceasefire so evacuation of Indians can be done smoothly. MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said that Indian students have been advised to stay inside shelters and avoid unnecessary risks.
