In a significant counterterrorism operation on August 30, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) targeted and killed Wassem Hazem, a senior Hamas leader in Jenin. Hazem, who played a pivotal role in orchestrating attacks in the West Bank, was eliminated along with two accomplices, Maysara Masharqa and Arafat Amer. The operation, conducted in collaboration with the Israel Security Agency (ISA) and Israel Border Police, involved a fierce exchange of gunfire. Hazem, known for directing violent activities, was struck in his vehicle. The two terrorists accompanying him attempted to escape but were subsequently neutralised by an IDF aircraft.
