While PBKS desperately require a victory to stay in the hunt for a playoff spot, weather warnings in the Kangra district have emerged as a potential spoiler for the evening fixture. You can read Punjab Kings vs Delhi Capitals match scorecard here.

Dharamsala Weather and Rain Forecast

The regional meteorological centre in Shimla has issued a 'Yellow Alert' for parts of Himachal Pradesh, including Dharamsala, between 11 and 15 May. Forecasters have predicted scattered rainfall and thunderstorms across the region, which could impact the scheduled 19:30 IST start.

Current conditions in Dharamsala remain cool, with temperatures hovering between 12°C and 18°C. While the weather forecast reports a 40 percent chance of light rain on Monday afternoon, fans are hopeful that the state-of-the-art drainage system at the HPCA Stadium will allow for a full contest if the showers are brief.

Dharashala Weather Live

The Dharamsala track is widely regarded as a 'batter's paradise' due to its true bounce and the high altitude, which allows the ball to travel further in the thinner air. However, the cooler mountain air often provides early assistance to seamers, with new-ball swing expected during the powerplay.  LSG Out of IPL 2026 Playoffs Race After Rishabh Pant and Co Suffer Defeat Against CSK.

Captains will also have to contend with a significant dew factor. As temperatures drop quickly after sunset in the mountains, the outfield is expected to become wet, making it difficult for bowlers to grip the ball in the second innings. This makes the toss crucial, with the side winning it likely to elect to bowl first.

For Punjab Kings, this is effectively a 'must-win' encounter. After a string of recent defeats, they find themselves in a tight race for the fourth playoff spot. Conversely, Delhi Capitals are virtually out of contention for the knockout stages but remain a dangerous side capable of playing the "spoilsport" role.
