OUT ans STUMPS! Manav Suthar gets his third wicket, which will benefit India heading into Day 3. The final session has been all about India, where Suthar and Prasidh Krishna downing Afghanistan batting, despite Rahmat Shah's resistance. Afghanistan face an uphill battle ahead with five batters back in the hut, and still trailing by 451 runs. 

Afghanistan have managed to cross the 100-run mark, thanks to a resilient knock by Rahmat Shah. Shah as managed to keep on end tied up, scoring 37 off 73, while others have come and gone. 

OUT! Prasidh Krishna gets his second, and the ploy to bring back the pacer has worked for India. Hashmatullah Shahidi was caught in the crease, and found the ball hitting his pads trying to defend. Rahmat Shah is left stranded at the other end, as others fall like nine pins

Manav Suthar making his debut Test a memorable one, first with the bat, and with the ball. Suthar has claimed his second wicket, dismissing Rahmanullah Gurbaz for 12. Gurbaz defended, but the ball turned ever-so slightly to take the outside edge, went into the hands of second slip.

This has been a solid stand between Rahmat Shah and Rahmanullah Gurbaz, who have played on the merit of the ball, and not looked to enforce themselves in the middle. Gurbaz did start with aggressive shots, but eased into his stay in the middle. 

Prasidh Krishna gets his first wicket, and opener Sediqullah Atal has to walk back to the pavilion after making 17. This is Krishna's maiden Test wicket on homesoil. Atal looked to defence but the ball took an inside edge and managed to disturb the woodwork. 

Back for the final session of play on Day 2, Afghanistan will look for their best batters Sediqullah Atal and Rahmanullah Gurbaz take control of the innings and consolidate their reply. For India, it is important that pacers and spinners work in tandem together, and share wickets in these conditions. 

OUT! Manav Suthar gets his maiden Test wicket in his first over in international cricket. Abdul Malik went for the sweep shot after staying silent on the first three balls, which saw the ball take the top-edge and and into the safe hands of Mohammed Siraj, who nearly managed to miss the catch with KL Rahul running in as well. This will also be Tea on Day 2.

Afghanistan batters Abdul Malik and Sediqullah Atal will hope to emulate the start provided by the counterparts. Atal has been in stellar form last year, and will look to continue his momentum in red-ball as well. India will bank on in-form bowlers Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna to clinch wickets before tea on Day 2. 

Declaration! India have finally declared their innings on 564 for 8, which comes balls after Washington Sundar scored his sixth Test half-century. India saw as many as two hundreds (KL Rahul and Shubman Gill), while three half-centuries (Sai Sudharsan, Rishabh Pant and Sundar) scores in their first innings. For Afghanistan, Saleem Safi was the standout pacer claiming six wickets, while Hashmatullah Shahidi, and Ziaur Rahman picked one each. 

FIFTY! Washington Sundar reaches his half-century in style, hitting a six and four to reach his sixth fifty in Tests. This is quick fifty by Sundar, taking just 66 balls, which include five fours and one solitary six. 

Debutant Manav Suthar has fallen after scoring a brisk 28 off41. Saleem Safi, who has been bowling his heart out, manages to get his fifth wicket, and thus take his maiden five-wicket haul in Test. Washington Sundar has been joined by Mohammaed Siraj in the middle.

Back for the post-lunch session, and India will look to accelerate, with batters like Manav Suthar, and Washington Sundar in the middle. India's first target will be as close to 600 as possible, given the conditions in the middle at Mullanpur. Afghanistan, on the other hand, will look to restrict India under 550. 

This has been a great comeback by Afghanistan in the second-half of the first session, to claim three wickets, and somewhat strong the momentum set by Indian batters. Shubman Gill, Rishabh Pant, and Dhruv Jurel did find runs but a more disciplined bowling saw Afghanistan earn rich dividend. Washington Sundar and debutant Manav Suthar are in the middle, and have managed to stop the bleeding for India at lunch. 

Afghanistan have managed to make in-roads in the Indian's late-middle order in last few overs, with the wickets of Rishabh Pant and Dhruv Jurel. Pant mishit the ball, that went straight up in the air off Shahidi's bowling, while Jurel had a brainfade moment, who left a delivery by Saleem Safi, that came back in after pitching to crash on the stumps. 

OUT! Dhruv Jurel has been completely dumbfounded by Saleem Safi, who managed to castle the batter for 19. Jurel left an incoming delivery, that jagged-back from the outside off, and crashed into the stumps.

This has been a solid show by India, with Dhruv Jurel continuing the good work done by top-order. Jurel has already 24 with Rishabh Pant, who is nearing ninth Test hundred. Afghanistan have been better in terms of their line and length this morning. 

OUT! A magnificent innings comes to an end, as Saleem Safi's hard toil sends back Indian captain Shubman Gill back in the hunt. The first 30 mins of play has been all about poor captaincy from Afghanistan captain, where Hashmatullah Shahidi failed to take a close DRS call against Shubman Gill, who was leg-before. This is the third time that Afghanistan team has failed to opt for a DRS call, which have only put the side back in the contest. Meanwhile, Gill and Rishabh Pant have added 150 runs for the fourth wicket.

Day 2 starts and the old ball is already starting to behave, with a few deliveries reaching the keeper on two bounces. Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant will look to restart their innings, and ensure India pile on runs in the first hour of play. Afghanistan are still not taking the new ball, which has been due since late last evening.
