(Updated after SRH vs GT IPL 2024 match)

Here's the IPL 2024 Playoff Scenario for Each Team

Already Qualified:

Kolkata Knight Riders: With the GT vs KKR IPL 2024 match abandoned, the Kolkata Knight Riders have sealed a spot at the top of the points table and ensured a place in the Qualifier 1 of the tournament. KKR were the first team to make it to the playoffs of the IPL 2024 and will be playing in Qualifier 1 after 11 long years.

Rajasthan Royals: The Rajasthan Royals has become the second team to qualify for IPL 2024 playoffs after DC's win over LSG. However, the Sanju Samson-led side has one match remaining and winning that can ensure a top-two finish.

Sunrisers Hyderabad: Sunrisers Hyderabad became the third team to qualify for IPL 2024 playoffs after their match against Gujarat Titans was washed out to rain in Hyderabad. SRH now have 15 points, and one more win can also see them make it to the top two, but a Rajasthan Royals defeat can make that possible, provided they win their last match.

In Contention:

Chennai Super Kings: Chennai Super Kings have fate in their own hands with one match remaining, against RCB. The reigning champions have 14 points from 13 matches and a win can see them through to the last four. CSK can also make it to the top two if they win against RCB and both Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad lose their remaining matches.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru: After spending a lot of time at the bottom of the IPL 2024 points table, RCB have staged a dramatic turnaround to remain alive in the playoffs race. RCB not only need to beat CSK but also keep certain numbers in mind. If they bat first and get to 200, RCB need to win by 18 runs. If RCB bowl first, a win by 11 runs can help them eclipse CSK’s Net Run Rate (NRR).

Already Eliminated:

Delhi Capitals: Delhi Capitals have already been eliminated from the tournament after the SRH vs GT match ended in a washout. The result saw SRH through to the semifinals, ending their hopes, with the final spot up for grabs between CSK and RCB.

Lucknow Super Giants: Lucknow Super Giants, too, are as good as eliminated, with 12 points from 13 matches. LSG have 12 points and an NRR of -0.787. Even a big victory against Mumbai Indians, which will take their point tally to 14, is unlikely to see their NRR eclipse that of CSK or RCB.

Gujarat Titans: Gujarat Titans were officially eliminated from the IPL 2024 playoffs race after their match against KKR was washed out in Ahmedabad. Later on, their last match was also unfortunately abandoned due to rain in Hyderabad and they finished IPL 2024 with 12 points from 14 matches.

Punjab Kings: Punjab Kings were eliminated earlier on after a defeat to Royal Challengers Bengaluru by 60 runs. Punjab Kings, a side which is yet to win the IPL title, finished with 10 points from 13 matches.

Mumbai Indians: Mumbai Indians was the first team to be eliminated from the playoffs race after Sunrisers Hyderabad beat Lucknow Super Giants by 10 wickets earlier in the season. Hardik Pandya and his men have won just four matches and can pick up one more victory in their remaining match against LSG, which will help them end IPL 2024 on a high.
