NEP Win by Six Wickets | Nepal vs Canada Highlights, T20 World Cup 2026 Warm-up Match: Aasif Sheikh, Sundeep Jora Help Nepal Notch Easy Win

WIN! An easy win for Nepal by six wickets as Aasif Sheikh and Sundeep Jora help their side chase down 162. Sheikh and Jora scored 58 and 44, repectively while Gulshan Jha scored an unbeaten 31 after a sudden collapse. 

Suddenly, Nepal finds itself in a bit of a bother with wickets falling in quick time. First, Aasif Sheikh, and then Sundeep Jora, departed at a gap of three overs. 

FIFTY! This has a brilliant display of batting by Aasif Sheikh, who has raced to his fifty in 18 balls, which includes six fours and three sixes. Sheikh alongwith Sundeep Jora have taken Nepal past the 100-run mark, and have put the team on the brink of an easy win. 

Unlike the Canadian innings, the Nepalese innings has been all about runs and more runs. Aasif Sheikh has taken the attack to the bowlers and has raced away into the 30s.  Sheikh, along with Sundeep Jora have helped Nepal cross the 50-run mark in the fifth over itself. 

For Nepal, veterans Kushal Bhurtel and Aasif Sheikh are opening the innings and will look to provide the team a steady start. The batters have already showcased their intent with a six in the first over. 

Shreyas Movya and Jaskanrandeep Singh have ensured Canada reaches a par total for Nepal to chase down. Movya scored a quick-fire 38 off 19 balls, while Singh played a cameo of 21 runs. Sandeep Lamichhane and Kushal Bhurtel were standout bowlers, claiming two wickets apiece. 

OUT! Sandeep Lamichhane into his third over, and manages to clean up the well-set Navneet Dhaliwal. Dhaliwal wanted to keep the flow of runs going and played the sweep shot, which completely missed the ball, as the delivery knocked over his stumps for 41. Earlier, Nicholas Kirton and Kanwarpal Tathgue, too, perished in a bid to score quickly. 

In the last few overs, Canada batters Navneet Dhaliwal and Kanwarpal Tathgur have upped the ante, and the team's total is nearing the 100-run mark. The scoring rate increased after Sompal Kami gave away 10 runs in the 10 overs, which opened the floodgates for Canada. 

Nepal bowlers have managed to keep things tight in the middle, not allowing Canada batters to score freely. Both Navneet Dhaliwal and Kanwarpal Tathgur has scored their runs quite gingerly, barely taking any chances.

Karan KC is opening the bowling for Nepal, while Yuvraj Samra and Navneet Dhaliwal are the openers for Canada. It will be interesting to see how the Nepal bowlers bowl under humid conditions, with the captain wanting to bat first. 

TOSS! Canada have won the toss, and stand in captain has elected to bat first. Both regular skippers are missing in action as they are attentending captain's meet in Mumbai. Harsh Thaker is leading Canada, while Dipendra Singh Airee is captaining Nepal.
