Ireland vs Bangladesh Highlights And Cricket Score 6th Match - ODI Summary

End of Over : 43.0 BAN: 294/4

Thus, the league phase of the tri-nation series ends with another simple win for Bangladesh. They head into the final as favorites to win it, with two wins already in the series over their opposition in that game, West Indies. It will be played on the 17th of May, Friday and will begin at 1045 local time (0945 GMT). See you for that one. Till then, it is goodbye from us. Take care and cheers!

Victorious Bangladesh skipper, Mashrafe Mortaza says that it was a nice wicket to bat on. Adds that their bowling wasn't too bad as they restricted Ireland under 300. Lauds the batting effort, especially from the top order. Mentions that they have a lot of confidence heading into the final and considers it a very important match. Signs off by saying that they have to play really well on that day.

Ireland skipper, William Porterfield says that it was disappointing for them. Adds they they were short with the bat and ball and praises Bangladesh for playing better than them. Regarding future games, Porterfield informs that they will be facing Afghanistan and they know what to expect from them.

Abu Jayed is given the Man of the Match award for his maiden fifer in ODIs. First, he thanks the Almighty and then thanks his bowling coach, Courtney Walsh.

Earlier in the morning, Ireland won the toss and elected to bat first but they could only rack up 292, that too mainly due to a ton by Paul Stirling and a good knock of 90-plus from their skipper, William Porterfield. The lower order did wield the willow a bit but they could not get over 300, which would still be a little under par on this beautiful batting deck. Thus, the total of 292 proved far too little in the end and the hosts ended the tournament without a win. The presentation to follow...

Coming to the bowling of the Irish, well, not much can be said. They were off the mark again today as they were throughout the series. Adair was the only bowler with an economy of under 6 runs per over, which is one of the reasons why the Bangla Tigers chased down this total with 7 overs to spare!

Needing 293 to win, Bangladesh got off to a sedate start with 58 runs in the Powerplay losing no wicket. The openers went on to add 117 and it was when Tamim chopped on, that Ireland had their first wicket. Liton Das too got dismissed after scoring 76. Shakib Al Hasan was batting beautifully and got to his half ton but then had to limp off due to a side strain. That would be the only worry for the Asian side as they head into the final with another commanding victory.

This chase has been another stroll in the park for Bangladesh. They have been the best side on show in this tri-nation series and showed us why exactly once more! A complete batting performance where every batsman in the top 5 scored more than 30, with 3 of them getting to their half centuries. And when a team does that, usually 292 is chased down with ease!

41.4 6
