He referenced the philosophy of Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, noting that in an environment changing at such a rapid pace, the most significant risk is avoiding risk altogether. The entrepreneur holds a distinguished academic record, having secured an All India Rank of 33 in the JEE. He completed his Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering from IIT Bombay before earning a PhD in Artificial Intelligence. His research has consistently focused on deep reinforcement learning and large language model reasoning.
His career includes notable tenures at Google Brain and Google DeepMind, where he made significant contributions to the field of reinforcement learning. His work has been recognised with prestigious industry accolades, including the NeurIPS 2021 Best Paper Award. Beyond his industry roles, Agrawal continues to serve as an Adjunct Professor at McGill University, a position he has held since September 2024.
