While affected personnel in Midland have begun acknowledging the job losses on social platforms, corporate leadership has declined to confirm the exact number of local positions eliminated. Outside analysts estimate the Midland cuts could eventually impact up to 500 jobs, a figure that represents a notable hit to Michigan's second-largest employment footprint for Dow, which consists of about 6,000 corporate and operational workers. “Out of respect for our people, we are not providing site-specific details and are focused on communicating directly with impacted employees,” Schikorra added regarding the localised totals.
