Sriharikota, July 13: With just one night remaining for the launch of Chandrayaan 2 Moon mission, the excitement is over the head. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) will be scripting history in the wee hours of Monday, July 15, when Chandrayaan-2, or Moon Chariot 2, will blast off from Andhra Pradesh's Sriharikota Island. The Moon Chariot 2 will be launched by a Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle Mark III (GSLV Mk III) and will attempt to land the lunar surface on September 6. The Chandrayaan 2 is India's second effort to study the moon. Unlike Chandrayaan 1, its sequel will have a rover which will move on the moon surface for one lunar day (14 Earth Days).
To witness the historic movement, the best way to watch the launch is from Satish Dhawan Space Centre's viewing gallery in Sriharikota. The launch will be live streamed by ISRO itself. The space agency will live stream the launch on its social media handles Facebook and @isro on Twitter.

The official telecast will be on Doordarshan at 1:30 am on Monday, the broadcaster will be live from ISRO's mission control room and the launch pad.

Doordarshan's YouTube channel will also live stream the launch of Chandrayaan 2.
If the launch is successful, Chandrayaan 2 will become the first spacecraft to land on Moon's south polar region. The mission would also make India fourth country -after the United States, Russia and China- to soft land on the moon.
