San Francisco, August 31: WhatsApp, owned by Meta, has been working on several new features to enhance its users' experience. The most anticipated features are "voice chat mode for Meta AI" and "filter chats through custom lists," and "contact syncing" among others. Meta-owned WhatsApp has been testing these new capabilities with beta users and will soon roll them out to everyone.

WhatsApp is also testing another useful feature called "contact syncing," which would allow users to add contacts directly to the app without needing any third-party or cloned versions of the platform. These three new features will be available for developers to test. UPI Transactions Surge: India Surpasses Global Digital Payment Platforms, Records INR 81 Lakh Crore Worth Transactions in April-July.

WhatsApp's new feature, dubbed "voice chat mode for Meta AI," would be identical to the ChatGPT Voice Mode, which would allow users to personalise their interactions with Meta AI services within the app. According to a post by WABetainfo, the Meta AI voice chat feature on WhatsApp will allow users to ask questions by speaking to the chatbot and get a reply with a voice. The post said, "Speaking can be quicker than typing."

The "filter chat through custom lists" feature on WhatsApp will offer users an enhanced, personalised way to manage their contacts and interactions. It will help WhatsApp users find and communicate with others easily. Further, this feature will help them filter chat based on the created lists and track customers, payments, and more. WhatsApp New Update: Meta-Owned Platform Likely To Introduce Optional Passkey Feature for End-to-End Encrypted Backups; Check Details.

Contact syncing is another feature under development and soon set to be rolled out. It will allow the users to manage their contact across multiple devices more efficiently. This feature is intended to improve both privacy and convenience for the users. Further, WhatsApp users can also turn off this feature for their second account if they want to keep certain contacts separate from their first account. WhatsApp's contact syncing feature can be activated with a single tap on a dedicated option within the app.
