Zoom Communications, Inc. announced the appointment of tech veteran Jeff Epstein to its board of directors, effective immediately. Epstein, who previously served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Oracle, has also been named to Zoom’s Audit Committee. The leadership change comes as longtime board member Jonathan Chadwick prepares to retire on November 19, concluding nearly a decade of service with the collaboration software giant.

Who is Jeff Epstein?

Jeff Epstein is a veteran enterprise technology executive and financial strategist. He currently serves as an operating partner at Bessemer Venture Partners and holds a lecturing position at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Prior to joining Bessemer, Epstein led financial operations at Oracle Corporation as its EVP and CFO. Vishal Garg, Infamous for Laying off 900 Employees on Zoom Call, Has Been Ousted as Better Home & Finance CEO.

Over his career, Epstein has built extensive governance experience across the software-as-a-service (SaaS) ecosystem. He currently holds board positions at Autodesk, AvePoint, and Twilio, and previously served on the boards of Okta, Couchbase, Poshmark, and Shutterstock. Leadership Transition at Zoom

Epstein joins the company as a Class I director with a term set to run through the 2029 annual meeting of stockholders. According to regulatory filings, Zoom granted him restricted stock units valued at $213,219 as part of its non-employee director compensation plan.

Chadwick’s upcoming departure marks the end of a pivotal era for Zoom. Having served on the board since 2017, Chadwick guided the company through its initial public offering (IPO) and the hyper-growth phase triggered by the shift to remote work during the pandemic.
