Pentagon Releases Fourth Batch of UFO Files, Including Aviator’s Report of Object ‘Unlike Anything I Had Seen’
The Pentagon released its fourth batch of UFO files Friday, containing 40 documents including a military aviator's report of an object 'unlike anything I had seen' in 28 years of service. The release, part of an ongoing disclosure effort under Trump's executive order, includes files from NASA, CIA, FBI and Energy Department archives.
The Pentagon on Friday released a new batch of files related to UFOs, also known as unidentified anomalous phenomena, marking the fourth such disclosure since the government began releasing the material in May. The release includes 40 files in total: 14 documents, 19 videos, four audio files, and three images, sourced from the Pentagon, NASA, the CIA, the FBI, and the Energy Department.
The files were posted on the Pentagon's dedicated UFO website, part of an ongoing disclosure effort under an executive order signed by President Trump earlier this year.
Aviator Describes Unusual Object
Among the newly released records is a military debrief from an aviator who witnessed a mysterious object during a 2019 sighting over the Eastern United States, alongside four other personnel. The aviator wrote that the object had flight characteristics unlike anything they had encountered in 28 years of service with the Air Force and Navy, describing a small object travelling below them at high speed in the opposite direction before it moved out of view during attempts to zoom in on video footage. The report falls under a category the Pentagon calls a "range fouler debrief," a standardized U.S. Navy form used to document unauthorized intrusions into controlled airspace during military operations or training.
Historical Documents Also Included
The release also contains older material, including records from a 1949 conference on so-called "green fireballs." One document details a 2015 sighting near the Pantex nuclear plant in Texas, where witnesses described a diamond-shaped object, rounded at the top and roughly four feet tall, moving at 10 to 15 miles per hour. ‘UFO’ Shot Down Over Lake Huron Was Actually a Boy Scout Balloon, Former US Officials Reveal.
Part Of A Broader Disclosure Effort
Friday's release follows three earlier rounds of files published on a rolling basis since May 8. The second batch came out on May 22, followed by a third release on June 12 that included eyewitness accounts from federal law enforcement officers and FBI-collected videos of orb-like objects in the sky. Earlier releases have also included archival material tied to NASA's Apollo 12, Apollo 17, and Gemini 7 missions, during which astronauts reported unusual sightings.
The Pentagon said Friday's release is not the final disclosure expected under the president's executive order, suggesting additional files will be made public in the coming months.
