On August 9, the body of a post-graduate female trainee doctor was found in the seminar hall of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata. The family has accused that she was both raped and murdered, triggering widespread outrage and protests. In response to this tragic event, Alia Bhatt wrote a detailed note highlighting the urgent issue of women’s safety. She shared alarming statistics on crimes against women and emphasised that “women are not safe, anywhere”.
