Death count of birds has increased in Sambhar Salt lake situated in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Around 17000 birds have died so far at the country’s largest saltwater lake. "The death toll has increased to nearly 17000,” said Arindam Toma, Chief Wildlife Warden of the Forest Department to PTI. Around 1000 birds were found dead around Sambhar Lake on November 12. AK Katariya, professor at the centre for the animal disease had said the death of birds could be due to Avian Botulism. Rajasthan Forest & Environment Minister Sukhram Vishnoi said, "We will open a wildlife check post to keep a check so that such incidents can be avoided."
