Assembly Elections 2022: Election Commission Says Polls To Take Place As Per Schedule Without Any Delay

On December 30, the Election Commission (EC) held a press conference concerning the assembly elections to be held next year. Elections are scheduled for next year in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand & other states. The Election Commission (EC) made it clear that the assembly polls will be held as per schedule and without any delay. It was being speculated that EC might change the election schedule as cases of Covid-19 with the Omicron variant are rising in the country. The EC made many other important announcements. In order to ensure voter turnout and make life easy for the disabled & senior citizen voters, the EC would reach out to voters with disabilities and those above 80 years of age. The CEC announced that voting during Assembly elections will be held from 8 am to 6 pm on the date of polling. Watch the video to know more.
