BJP Leaders Asks Journalists To Go To Afghanistan Over Fuel Price Question

Ramratan Payal, the district unit chief of the BJP in Katni, Madhya Pradesh, triggered a controversy on August 20. Payal told a journalist to "go to Taliban-ruled Afghanistan" after he was asked a question concerning the rising fuel prices. The BJP leader slammed the journalist for asking questions about the rising fuel prices at a time when "the third wave of the Covid-19 is about to come.” "Go to Taliban. Petrol is being sold at Rs 50/litre in Afghanistan,” he said to the journalist. Neither the BJP leader nor his supporters were wearing a mask. He said, “Do you even realise the kind of situation in the country? How (Narendra) Modi-ji is controlling the situation. He is still giving free ration to 80 crore people.” Recently, Haribhushan Thakur, a BJP leader from Bihar said, “Those who feel scared here can go there... petrol and diesel are cheaper. Once there, they will understand the value of India.” Prices of fuel are at an all-time high. Price of petrol has crossed Rs 100 a litre at many places across the state.
