On February 7, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor said PM Modi’s entire speech was an attack on the Congress party. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and leaders of the Congress and Shiv Sena counteredt PM Modi's remarks that they had contributed to the spread of Covid-19. Kejriwal said that PM Modi’s statement was a blatant lie. Balasaheb Thorat, Maharashtra Revenue Minister and senior Congress leader called PM Modi’s remarks unfortunate.
