Cyclone Tauktae made landfall in Gujaratās Saurashtra district between Diu and Una around 9 pm. The process of landfall ended around 12 am on Tuesday ā May 18, the India Meteorological Department said. Tauktae was downgraded from an āextremely severe cyclonic stormā to āvery severe cyclonic stormā post midnight and is expected to gradually weaken into a severe cyclonic storm according to the IMD. Atleast 12 people have died over the past 24 hours due to the cyclone that formed over the Arabian Sea on May 14.
