Deepika Padukone, who suffered anxiety and depression in the past, launched her first lecture series on mental health in the national capital on September 15. While interacting with the media she also talked about the biggest struggle of her life. She said, “I don’t think so as the conversation really has opened up and I don’t think that there is as much stigma (about mental health) as there used to be four years ago. But, we certainly have a long way to go in terms of creating more awareness.” “I feel that is where we really need to keep the conversation alive,” she added. Deepika also thanked the media fraternity for their role in starting the conversation about mental health. Further talking about her latest initiative of commencing a lecture series on mental health, she stated, “The lecture series is to invite people from different profession ad from various parts of the world.
