Elderly Man Moved To Tears As Panchkula Cops In Haryana Surprise Him On Birthday Amid The Lockdown

An elderly man living in Panchkula, Haryana was surprised by police officials on his birthday. This gesture of the cops moved the elderly man to tears. A video which has gone viral shows Karan Puri being surprised by the Panchkula police officials on his birthday amid the nationwide lockdown. The video shared by IPS officer Pankaj Nain of the Haryana Cadre shows a policewoman asking Puri his name as he walks out of his house. Puri seems to be completely unaware of the surprise awaiting him. ‘My name is Karan Puri. I live alone and I'm a senior citizen,’ he says while moving towards the front gate of his house. Puri is then amazed as the cops start singing, ‘Happy Birthday’ for him. Puri seems to be overwhelmed by the gesture and is seen bursting into tears. ‘It's okay, sir, we are your family,’ a policeman can be heard saying. Puri then takes on the birthday cap and cuts the cake arranged by the cops. Since the video was shared online, netizens joined in to applaud the gesture.
