“India is doing very well in 2022 and is expected to grow strongly in 2023 as well," IMF chief economist Pierre Oliver Gorinches told reporters as reported by News18.com. “India is in a relatively bright spot”, said Krishna Srinivasan, IMF Director of Asia and Pacific Department, to PTI in an interview. Srinivasan said that growth was "slowing across many parts of the world even as inflation is rising.” On October 12, IMF in its World Economic Outlook projected a growth rate of 6.8 per cent in 2022 as compared to 8.7 per cent in 2021 for India. Estimation for 2023 slides down to 6.1 per cent. Watch the video to know more.
