Jamia Milia Islamia University Protest March: Man Fires Gun, Shouts ‘Ye Lo Azadi’

An unidentified man fired at protesting students outside Jamia Milia Islamia, while shouting “ye lo azaadi…” He fired at students who had taken out a protest march and a student – Shadaab Farukh was injured in the incident. The brazen incident took place on a road that had heavy police deployment. Jamia Milia Islamia has been the site of multiple incidents of violence ever since students began protesting the BJP government’s recently amended Citizenship Act (CAA). Minister of State Anurag Thakur has been banned by the election commission for 72 hours for his recent comment of “goli marron…desh ke gaddaro ko.”
