On October 20, Japan's Mount Aso erupted, spilling out a massive column of ash thousands of metres into the sky. No injuries were immediately reported. Dramatic visuals showed rocks flying in the late-morning eruption in southwest Japan. As per an AFP report, people were warned not to approach the volcano as it ejected hot gas and ash. “Human lives are our priority and we are working with the Self Defence Forces, police and firefighters to effectively deal with the situation,” Hirokazu Matsuno, Chief Cabinet Secretary, told reporters.
